The pirates’ colony found by Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4 was carefully brought to life by the Naughty Dog team. Color and black-and-white shots of the colony, like this detailed sketch by Naughty Dog artist Robh Rupel, established the look and feel of the village and explored possible spaces like dilapidated taverns and houses, and exotic props like abandoned loot (note the clock in the middle), casks of whiskey et cetera.
Also, the artists established a sense of time in this newly made digital world: nature has reclaimed the structures, toppled them or made them indistinguishable from the surrounding jungle – time clearly had its way with the scene. From sketches like these, the scene was modelled in 3-D, lit, and then final painting was done on top of the 3-D models before the colony could exist in Uncharted 4.
The Colony is an original art print from concept art used in the production of Uncharted 4. This museum-grade limited edition is hand-numbered and comes with an artist-signed certificate of authenticity.
